Local Transit is now in Year 2 of a 5 year contract as a preferred Preferred supplier for the Victorian Government’s whole-of-government State Purchase Contract (contracted through the Department of Treasury) Under this contract, Local Transit picks up and delivers mail, documents and parcels for state government departments and entities. Most of the work to-date has been for the Office of the Victorian Information Commissioner and Melbourne Water.
To-date four drivers have been trained to provide courier services. Courier deliveries are another way of providing employment opportunity to disadvantaged migrant drivers.
